Iris Manola is a postdoctoral researcher at the Meteorology and Air quality group of the Environmental Sciences department of Wageningen University and works on the field urban extreme weather. She focuses mainly on the present and future precipitation over large metropolitan regions and works with Bert Holtslag, Remko Uijlenhoet and Gert-Jan Steeneveld.
She has a bachelors degree on physics, a masters degree on environmental physics and meteorology (both from Athens University, Greece) and a PhD degree on large scale atmospheric dynamics (from KNMI and Utrecht University, the Netherlands).
Iris is a member of the Metropolitan Solutions Consortium (MetSol) at Wageningen University & Research, that is aiming to co-develop, test and refine metropolitan solutions together with citizens, businesses and public actors through an integrated living lab approach on the subject of Urban Meteorology and Extreme Weather, based mainly in Amsterdam and in Paris, and connected to the national and international context.
