Prof.dr. Rolf Künneke

Rolf Künneke is full professor Economics of Infrastructures at the department of Values, Technology and Innovation of the faculty of Technology, Policy, and Management at Delft University of Technology.  His research interests are in the fields of responsible innovation, institutional design, regulation, and modelling of energy systems. He analyses the interrelatedness of technical and institutional features of sustainable energy infrastructures. He is interested in the opportunities for self governance of local energy systems. In collaboration with AMS he is conducting research on the societal acceptability of smart energy systems. Societal acceptability is related to the engineering design and the regulation of innovate urban energy systems. Rolf has a long history of research in the ongoing restructuring of the energy sector. Recently he was involved in a national research program on the future of the Dutch gas infrastructure: Energy Delta Gas Research (EGDGaR). He is also active in the field of wind energy research. Rolf received his Master degree in economics at the University of Dortmund (Germany) and his PhD degree at the University of Twente (The Netherlands). He served as visiting professor at the University Paris 1 (Sorbonne-Pantheon) and as research fellow at Auburn University (USA) and EPFL Lausanne.
