The Summer School Thinking City is taking place from 3 to 16 July. Scientists, urbanists and designers from all four corners of the globe will be converging on Amsterdam to exchange ideas, to learn and to take up practical challenges. These are challenges that the city of Amsterdam is facing at this very moment. The Summer School is an interdisciplinary school that provides inspiration and works towards finding solutions. And all in collaboration with a wide range of participants. Part of the programme is open to the public.
Interested parties are warmly invited to attend the public lectures. Come and listen, for example, to the interview with Beatrix Ruf (director Stedelijk Museum); Marek Wieczorek (Washington University); Michael Sorkin (Michael Sorkin Studio) and the results/presentations of the case studies. Join the international guests and experience the Summer School Thinking City, completely free of charge.
You can also take part in the skills training workshops ‘intercultural communication’; ‘observation techniques’; ‘interview techniques’ and ‘presentation and visualization techniques’. A small charge per workshop is asked. You can register for the workshops by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, stating your name and the name and date of the workshop in question.
You find all information in the flyer (page 3 and 4).
The Foundation Thinking City organises the Summer School Thinking City in close collaboration with the University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions and local stakeholders.
