Daniel is a student assistant for the Living Lab program at AMS Institute. He is working towards developing, validating and implementing urban experimentation methodologies under the form of Living Labs. As a student MSc MADE program, Daniel has shown a keen interest in urban innovation. Consequently, he has shifted his focus on Living Labs, which have become his passion.

Daniel is also working on developing a business model for the Marineterrein Amsterdam Living Lab, as part of his graduation project. He is doing this using the Living Lab way of working, together with other 3 fellow students. In parallel, he is researching the interaction between Living Labs and the context they are set in, looking at a comparison among multiple Living Labs across the world: in Europe, in Asia, and in South America.

Besides his studies, Daniel has helped set up the MADE IT study association of the MSc MADE. As a board member, he has contributed to strengthening the bond between students and the staff of AMS Institute.

Daniel’s passion for innovation has been ignited by the city of Amsterdam and the innovation culture that exists here. He wishes that over the years he can bring this to other cities across the globe.

“The way to urban resiliency is paved with experimentation.”
