Marije will develop programs that bring results of the AMS Institute research and education to use for the City of Amsterdam, it’s general public, government organizations and business. This can include prototyping of results, new partnerships that will lead to innovations, matching need & demand of stakeholders on innovation etc.
Marije has just started working at AMS Institute as off January 1st 2019. Before that she worked at TU Delft for the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science as a Program manager for 2 initiatives around Data Science and Blockchain. Prior to that she worked at the Dutch science foundation (NWO), as a policy officer in different functions (science policy, knowledge dissemination, social sciences and big data).
Marije has worked for over 15 years in science and science policy. She is passionate about bringing science results that one step further. Because of the “can do-will do” mentality of the City of Amsterdam and though the combination of science, education & innovation at AMS Institute, it is possible to do just that, bringing science to use.
“Science results are cool and can be beneficial for society but they are stored in long, closed pharmacy drawers. Let’s take them out & display them at the window shop for everyone to see!”
