In Juli 2013 Hans van Lint was appointed Antonie van Leeuwenhoek Professor Traffic simulation & Computing at the Transport and Planning (T&P) Department, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences of Delft University of Technology. His research lies on the interface between travel and traffic flow theory & simulation and data assimilation techniques. Between 2004 and 2016 Hans van Lint acquired around 4M€ net in research projects from industry, EU and NWO, amongst which a personal (career) research grant (NWO/Veni) in 2007. In these projects he works (with his PhD students) on advanced data assimilation methods to fuse heterogeneous data from many different sources; and on traffic and demand estimation, prediction, simulation and visualisation. This work has been published in close to 50 journal articles and well over 140 conference articles. Hans is director of the Delft integrated traffic and travel laboratory (DiTTLAB.tudelft.nl) and chair of the DiTTLAB foundation.
