AMS is working on the coordination and setting up of the strategic program ‘Urban Food Systems’. The goal of this strategic program is to develop a perspective of a sustainable integral urban food system for the Metropolitan Area of Amsterdam and will therefore include various aspects such as logistics, waste management, circular economy, urban agriculture, health and soil. Within this program new research projects will be organized under auspices of the AMS Institute.
The 16th of September AMS will organize a first explorative meeting about the strategic program. During the event a selection of researchers is invited to pitch the most interesting challenges the MRA is facing in the coming years. As a follow up of this start event, matchmaking events will be organized together with the city and external parties to come up with concrete research projects in the MRA.
