The first course of the new master Metropolitan Analysis, Design and Engineering at AMS Institute will soon be completed and the students would like to share their first observations of the metropolitan challenges that the city of Amsterdam is facing.
During this first period students have been immersed in the challenges which metropolitan areas are facing today, focusing on the AMS themes such as urban mobility, food, water, waste, energy, health, housing and globalization.
They have learned to understand the variety and the multidisciplinary nature of these challenges in a pro-active way: By making observational walks and capturing urban problems on film, through writing analytical papers, by visiting interesting sites in Amsterdam and interviewing stakeholders and by preparing their own lectures about various urban topics.
This all in addition to lectures by a range of experts from TU Delft and Wageningen University & Research and many interesting guest lectures by business and societal partners of AMS Institute.
The first course on metropolitan challenges will be festively completed Friday November 9th. Eight short educational movies will have their premiere during the AMS Movie Afternoon. During an interactive Q&A we invite you to exchange perspectives and get involved in the discussion.
When: Friday November 9th, 12:30 – 16:30 + drinks afterwards organized by MADE IT
Where: Workshop Area in building 027W at Marineterrein, Kattenburgerstraat 5, Amsterdam
