About the position

You are responsible for designing, coordinating, and realizing the communication activities of various research programs and projects of AMS Institute. This includes (texts for) project websites, videos, infographics, (network) events, and other communication material. You work in close consultation with the project leaders and, if necessary, you coordinate with various project partners.

With the realization of these various communication expressions, you contribute to the project goals and to the dissemination of the project results. Without your work, the research results will not find their way into practice. The divergent project schedules and sometimes tight deadlines don't scare you.

Of course, you are not just producing and transmitting. You also keep a close eye on current events, and you know how to connect these to the research and the project results.

In this position, you are part of a communication team of five people. As a result, there are always colleagues with whom you can consult to do your work even better!

About you

We are looking for an all-round communication officer, who can quickly immerse him- or herself into various topics, who can switch quickly and who works independently. In addition, you can easily tick the following boxes:

  • You are experienced in developing various effective communication products for (research) projects. You enjoy translating scientific results into audience-friendly texts.
  • You have broad communication skills. From text writing, to supervising a video production, to organizing an event.
  • You know how to work in a multi-stakeholder environment. You are a clear communicator who is able to create a shared perspective on communication results.
  • You see opportunities and know how to connect them. So that communication in the various projects reinforces not only each other, but also corporate communication.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.

About AMS Institute

At AMS Institute, the best of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Wageningen University and Research (WUR) and Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) comes together in Amsterdam!

AMS Institute was founded in Amsterdam in 2014 as a partnership between TU Delft and WUR, in collaboration with MIT. The goal of AMS Institute is “to (re)invent a more prosperous city; sustainable, resilient, and just”. Your terms of employment

  • This position is for 32-40 hours a week.
  • Contract for the duration of 1 year, with options to extend afterward.
  • Classification at level Hay 10 VSNU
  • Gross salary is between €2,960 and €4,670 based on 40 hours per week; depending on experience.
  • A structural end of year bonus of 8.3%.
  • Excellent pension scheme by ABP.
