Dr. Zhikai Peng leads research on how urban microclimates affect human comfort and environmental behaviour. At AMS Institute, he contributes to the Urban Comfort Lab, developing field-based methods to measure and analyse heat, wind, and noise in public spaces. He also works on the MULTICARE project, exploring climate-resilient and circular design strategies to create healthier, more comfortable urban environments.

“I enjoy working within the AMS ecosystem because it brings research out of the lab and into the city. It’s where climate science finds validation in the urban heat, shade, and sweat of daily life.”
