Anastasios is a Computational Modeling specialist, and he is part of the Prototyping team of AMS. His work focuses on merging academic and engineering insights into useful applications for various projects within and outside of the AMS Institute. He is currently working closely with the Municipality of Amsterdam for the Warmteprogramma, while also supporting other ongoing projects focusing on waste data management and engineering.
Prior to his current assignments, Anastasios contributed to the MULTICARE Research project and the development of a multi-criteria decision-making framework through the integration of energy retrofits, circularity, and cultural heritage-related assessments in order to support the climate resilience of existing buildings. He was responsible for developing and deploying Building Physics simulations by utilizing advanced Computational Design methods for the historic city center of Amsterdam. As part of the Prototyping team, he also applied his Data-driven approach to Engineering problems on various other projects, extending the reach of Computational modeling within the Institute.
Anastasios has previously worked on various engineering projects as an entrepreneur and a Computational Designer. One of his latest works includes the development and deployment of Computationally driven frameworks, allowing end-to-end automation for Configure-To-Order Prefab concrete manufacturing facilities.
His passion for promoting Sustainable Development in the Built environment and his long-term relationship with Amsterdam, residing here for more than 10 years already, led Anastasios to invest his time and energy into contributing to AMS’ mission. Working on projects that will directly benefit the city by ensuring its future resilience to an ever-changing environment has been one of his ambitions that he can now realize.
