As an employee of the office team, Bert is one of the first persons you meet when you enter the AMS institute. Ready to answer all your questions and requests, he will support the professional staff, visitors and the students.
Bert was born on Ameland, has a theater background (HKU), and worked for a long time as a radio-broadcaster in Hilversum. He then worked for a number of years in the hotel industry as a host and receptionist (Pension Homeland) and published the short story collection: 'Being nice to everyone.' He has lived with his husband (and dog) on Java Island since 2001, where, as a committed local resident, he is closely involved in the developments around Kop Java, the most beautiful part of Amsterdam. He is fascinated by the experimental character of the Marineterrein, the area, the atmosphere, and the people who work there.
“I am proud to be part of the AMS institute where everything revolves around the future, growth and innovation.”
