As a research-driven designer, Chris is keen to translate research and knowledge into tangible and testable prototypes and experiments. Starting with a focus on Digital Autonomy (DACC), he combines knowledge of the digital domain with systems thinking and focuses on the end-users involved. In addition, he will be involved in prototyping for Digitale Regie Openbare ruimte (DRO) and various other domains and projects.
With a strategic and future-oriented scope, Chris often seeks to predict a variety of possible outcomes for new ideas, concepts and innovations. From such future scenarios, he then works his way back to actionable steps that can help researchers and stakeholders move towards desired outcomes. All the while maintaining a dynamic and pragmatic experimentation mindset, searching for validation and usable data to support decision-making and plotting the way to a better future.
Chris is visual in his approach: he likes to sketch and draw out discussions, situations, visions, and ideas on the spot - and expand these to become useful for a wider audience.
Many of our planetary challenges can be found on a small scale in our metropolitan environments. If we can find better solutions in our neighborhoods, we can scale them to make a big impact and realize a better future for all.
