As Prototype Designer at AMS Institute, Eva is interested in how design can help to make complex technological systems understandable and accessible, and how it can contribute to social and societal impact and participation. Eva is currently working on developing prototypes focused on digital autonomy with the DACC (Digitale Autonomie Competentie Centrum) and helps with the conceptualization o proof of concepts that are part of DRO (Digitale Regie Openbare Ruimte). With her hands-on iterative approach she aims to make (often invisible) data and technology structures tangible and experienceable. With a critical and experiential approach and a broad background in interaction design, creative coding and speculative thinking, Eva likes to challenge the status quo and to seek for alternative ways to engage with emerging technologies and complex systems.

After obtaining a MSc degree in Industrial Design from the TU Eindhoven, Eva joined Bureau Moeilijke Dingen as designer and creative technologist, where she prototyped tools, services and installations with data, AI and IoT for a range of diverse clients and contexts. She also experimented with implementing the more-than-human design philosophy in design processes.

Alongside her professional work, Eva spends her free time DJing and supporting women+ in the electronic music scene through various initiatives. After ten years of building and learning in Eindhoven, she’s excited to be inspired by Amsterdam’s creative energy.

“Technology is never neutral. For me, design is a reflective practice that questions what technology should serve and how it can be used toward a more desirable society and planet.”
