As Content and Communications Officer at AMS institute, Julian tells stories around the institute’s broader collaborations, such as CRCL Park, Marineterrein Living Lab, Open Knowledge Coalition, and Energie Lab Zuidoost. He also helps showcase the activities of AMS Institute’s educational program, MSc MADE. Additionally, he supports the communication efforts for the AMS Scientific Conference and other events. Julian is also involved in keeping the Amsterdam Open Research database accurate and up to date, to help AMS Institute’s findings reach other Amsterdam research institutes and policymakers.

Julian studied Life Science and Technology, earning his bachelor’s degree at TU Delft and his master’s degree at Leiden University. While learning about the fundamentals of life, he broadened his knowledge by delving into Science Communication and by interning at Leiden University’s Strategic Communications Department. Before AMS Institute, Julian worked on communications for public-private partnerships in the Life Sciences and Health Sector.

Julian has a broad interest in knowledge and innovations. He believes in the power of collaborative research. Current societal problems are too large to tackle alone. Moreover, research is most impactful when it is co-created with those affected by it.
