Maria is a consortium manager infrastructure for the ‘toekomstbestendige leefomgeving’ program. This multi-year program, consisting of 2 different consortia, is a collaboration between universities, government organizations and industry aimed at transforming the infrastructure sector. She focuses on facilitating collaboration between different parties, scaling up innovations and creating a long-lasting change in the way the sector operates.

Originally from Amsterdam, Maria has an educational background in International Security & Development at the University of Bristol. She started her career at the European Joint Undertaking for Nuclear Fusion in Barcelona, focusing on policy within public Procurement. In the five years prior to starting at the AMS Institute, she worked as a project- and consortium manager for complex European energy integration projects with TSOs, power exchanges, market parties, regulators and the European Commission.

Outside of her work at the AMS institute, Maria can be found kayaking near the office, travelling to mountainous regions to hike, or working on initiatives to strengthen local democracy.

Maria brings her international experience within complex infrastructure projects to make both Amsterdam and The Netherlands as whole sustainable, just and future-proof.
