As a student coach, Olivia’s task is to inform potential MSc MADE students about the program and the student life in Amsterdam. Before joining MSc MADE, Olivia graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a bachelor’s degree in Human Geography and Urban Planning. Within the field of urban planning, Olivia is most passionate about urban developments related to sustainable mobility.

Overall, Olivia is fascinated by highly urbanized areas and its complexity. In order to work towards a more sustainable world, Olivia believes that it cannot be achieved by only focusing on the energy transition or mobility; it is a synergy of everything. Thus, the MSc MADE program has given Olivia the opportunity to dive deeper in a large range of subjects, which are all crucial to work towards sustainability in the built environment. One of the reasons why Olivia believes MSc MADE is unique, is the fact that she gets to collaborate with students from all different backgrounds. When tackling urban problems, she believes it can be of added value to take different perspectives into account to work towards the best solution.

““The best way to tackle urban problems is to collaborate with people with different academic backgrounds””
