Stach works as an education developer and is responsible for the translation of our Living Lab Way of Working into learning programs and tools for professionals and practitioners. His work focuses on designing and facilitating engaging workshops and programs for professionals from municipalities, knowledge institutes and our industry partners, to enable them to collaboratively learn together in these complex multidisciplinary projects.

He always seeks to create learning experiences that are meaningful, playful and ignite curiosity. To make learning more memorable and resilient, his trademarks are the use of gamification, stories, LEGO, and other tangibles in his workshops. Currently, Stach is involved in the "Toekomstbestendige Leefomgeving" (Future-Proof Living Environment) project to support Living Lab Coordinators and to tailor the Living Lab methodology to infrastructural projects in and around Amsterdam.

After his Bachelor's in hospitality management, Stach worked in that same industry as a manager before transitioning to teaching the expertise at two different hotel schools. Meanwhile, equipped with a Master’s degree in Innovation Management and later in Educational Science, he began to focus on the foundations of learning and on making positive contributions to changing the learning landscape, both in academia and in professional learning.

Outside of his work at AMS Institute, Stach works as a sports instructor in Amsterdam in both cycling and running, training people of all ages and backgrounds. The motivation and energy he puts into his sports classes are also evident in his training and facilitation for professionals.

“Failure is the best thing to happen to an innovation, because it creates an incentive to learn on a systemic level.”
