Stefan is the Program Director of Metropolitan Analysis Design and Engineering (MADE), the joint MSc program of Wageningen University and Delft University at AMS-Institute. He leads the Education Team which organizes and defines the Educational Curriculum. The MADE program is in a constant state of evolution, refining and enhancing itself to meet the dynamic demands of modern education and practice.

The MSc MADE at AMS Institute stands at the forefront of innovative education, pioneering a transformative approach to urban challenges. Rooted in Amsterdam's vibrant ecosystem, MADE bridges the gap between academia and practice, offering students a unique blend of theoretical depth and hands-on experience.

This multidisciplinary program transcends traditional boundaries, encompassing fields such as data science, urban design, engineering, and social sciences, fostering a holistic understanding of urban complexities. Next to this, the entrepreneurial orientation of the program is an important added value for personal development, innovation and implementation.

MADE focuses on challenge-based education, immersing students in real-world city problems globally. Through collaboration with stakeholders and living labs, students develop sustainable, innovative solutions, preparing them with the knowledge, skills, adaptability, and creativity needed for the evolving urban landscape of the future.

Next to this, Stefan is Director of the Computational Design Lab (VR-BK, part of BK-Labs) at TU Delft Faculty of Architecture + Built Environment. This lab is responsible for the development and implementation of Virtual- and Augmented Reality technology in education and research and linking to the creative industry.

“Within the crucible of MSc MADE, challenge-based education ignites minds, transdisciplinary learning fuels innovation, and living labs transform theory into reality, all within the embrace of real-world cases. It's where knowledge transcends boundaries and solutions emerge at the nexus of academia and practice”
