Milan works as a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the TU Delft. His research focuses on how the municipality of Amsterdam can incorporate behavioral insights into projects aimed at changing behavior or increasing public support for the energy transition. Many projects aim to increase residents’ knowledge or motivation, but could, for instance, benefit from collective action by residents and from policy changes that make behavior change easier.
Milan obtained his PhD from the Eindhoven University of Technology, where he examined the social psychology of sharing public residential charging points for electric vehicles. He also works as a lecturer in the MSc Climate Psychology and Behavior program at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
Behavior by residents is an essential part of a successful energy transition, but is often overlooked in technical projects. I aim to explore and develop tools that allow the municipality to substantiate their approach to change behavior from both a societal, practical, and scientific perspective.
“Behaviour is an integral part of the energy transition.”
