MJ Hosseinabadi holds a Master’s degree in Construction Engineering and Management, and another one in Metropolitan Analysis, Design and Engineering (MADE), with a focus on urban sustainability, spatial analysis, and modelling. His research interests lie at the intersection of urban economics, circular transitions, behavioural modelling, and spatial decision-support tools. His recent MSc research focused on improving urban green infrastructure water-demand modelling in Amsterdam by integrating vegetation seasonality and spatial data.

He is currently a PhD candidate in the Urban Economics group at Wageningen University, where he develops an agent-based model of circular behaviour adoption. His work integrates modelling, spatial data, behavioural insights, stakeholder input, and scenario analysis to identify where circular practices emerge, where barriers exist, and which policies can support a more inclusive circular transition.

MJ works within the ACT! project, which focuses on accelerating a fair circular society. His research explores how circular behavior such as reuse, repair, and sharing behaviours emerge and spread across the Amsterdam Metropolitan Region.
