AMS Scientific Conference 2026 Program

From climate adaptation and resource scarcity to social cohesion and governance, cities demand new ways of thinking, collaborating and innovating.

The three-day conference features thought-provoking keynotes and panel discussions, networking opportunities, late-stage paper presentations, Rapid-fire pitches of emerging research, and special consortium-led sessions – all focused on the most pressing urban challenges.

Day 1: Unexpected Dots, Unexpected Connections

With keynote speakers Anacláudia Rossbach (Executive Director of UN-Habitat) and Peter Pelzer (Professor of Spatial Planning and Strategy at the Department of Urbanism of Delft University of Technology).

Day 2: Closing the Loops

With keynote speakers Prof. Dr. Catharina Bening (Group Leader for Circular Economy and Co-Lead at the Chair for Sustainability and Technology at ETH Zürich, and steering committee member of sus.lab) and Diederik Samsom (Activist, Politician, Strategist, and Entrepreneur for a Sustainable Future).

Day 3: Breaking the Boundaries
