Working at the front office at AMS Institute involves many activities. To name a few, Myrd works on keeping the AMS building and facilities running well, making sure the office environment stays clean and pleasant, coordinating the emergency response team, answering and redirecting calls and e-mails on behalf of AMS Institute, managing and maintaining the room reservation system, maintaining the inventory, and—most importantly—welcoming everyone to AMS Institute with a hearty smile.
Apart from the standard office tasks, Myrd has recently been working on mapping out sustainable, biological, and healthier alternatives to the food and drinks served within AMS Institute, with the goal of improving AMS Institute’s internal sustainability.
Outside of AMS Institute, Myrd has been a music producer for about 16 years. With roots in hip-hop instrumentals, he expanded his vision to the world of electronic music around 7 years ago and has been exploring a wide variety of different corners of the electronic music spectrum, ranging from modern film score compositions to intricate dancefloor techno, relaxing house music and more.
Next to his musical endeavors, he also worksas a host on private boat tours in the city canals.
As a born and raised Amsterdammer, Myrd has seen the city change drastically over the course of his youth. This led him to become socially engaged from a young age and unearthed a spirited passion for positive human and societal development.
Having lived in Amsterdam for most of his life, he has a heart for the true culture of the city. As a leisure activity, he likes to visit local art exhibitions and attend avant-garde nightlife events to explore freedom of expression and dance off the mundane.
