Peter Palensky is a Full Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical Sustainable Energy at TU Delft. Previously, he worked in academia, research centers, and industry around the world, including in California, South Korea, Germany, and the Republic of South Africa.

His research focuses on complex energy systems and smart grids. He models, (co-)simulates, and optimizes heterogeneous cyber-physical energy systems, with particular emphasis on the stability, robustness, efficiency, resiliency, and control of smart grids.

He serves as the primary contact for smart power system inquiries in the context of smart cities, covering both infrastructure and algorithmic/data-related aspects.
