Mobility means freedom, but also creates inequal burdens. Through subsidies, we all pay the costs for public transport, fuel and electric vehicles, but not everyone enjoys the benefits in an equal amount. (Air)pollution, noise, and use of public space for road use affect us all, but we don’t all contribute to an equal amount. What if include the ‘true’ costs in the price of mobility? What modalities will people choose? In this session we explore the use of Tradable Mobility Credit system, through an interactive experiment and discussion. What are the effects for society? Does the system offer chances for a more equal society or will it only increase inequalities further?
This evening is intended for all citizens of Amsterdam and anyone interested to participate.
To participate, we kindly ask you to bring a working smartphone/tablet with you.
