During the event, one of the first MSc MADE alumni gave a pitch about what the added value of a MSc MADE student can be to companies. The focus of the event was for students and companies to meet, exchange contacts and get to know the possible position as MADE students on the labour market.

MSc MADE Students
MSc MADE students are educated as urban engineers that are equipped to deal with the metropolitan challenges of our cities. In its interdisciplinary courses, students attain skills and knowledge by testing their ideas in projects and living labs in Amsterdam. Recently, the first two cohorts of MSc MADE students have graduated.

An inspiring afternoon
The first half of the event consisted of inspiring pitches by MSc MADE alumni Martijn van Stam, AMS HR manager Martijn van Beersum, Witteveen+Bos’ Chief Technology Officer Arjen van Nieuwenhuijzen, Royal Haskoning DHV’s Global Director Digital Twin Bart Brink and entrepreneur Coen Teeuw who recently founded his new company, The Next Green Step. The second half of the event challenged both students and companies to work on case-studies during 4 high-pressure online workshops, based on real urban challenges posed by the companies. The results were creative and original and represented the unique qualities of MSc MADE students.

As a result of this event, contact info was exchanged between students and companies. Future events will focus on more individual contact between companies and students. MADE IT is already making new plans for future events!
