As a Postdoctoral Researcher at the AMS institute, Pantelis applies innovative methods to solve subsurface mapping problems related to city infrastructure. His project aims at improving the process of assessing structural reliability of historic quay walls which are vital elements of the city of Amsterdam.

To extract information about the surrounding soil conditions of quay walls, Pantelis combines existing and new geophysical and geotechnical measurement techniques for 3D subsoil mapping. His project is a collaboration between the Department of Hydraulic Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences of Delft University of Technology and the AMS Institute.

Pantelis expertise lies in geophysics, sedimentary systems, numerical simulation, subsurface characterization and geological modelling. Next to his academic experience he has worked as a Geoscientist at TNO and the Geological Survey of the Netherlands.
