Menno manages the more complex projects around Circularity within AMS Institute. Currently he’s involved in three projects: Circular IT hardware, Circular biobased concrete and Living lab for Circular Logistics.

The move to AMS Institute is a career change for Menno after 25 years of consulting and corporate innovation. Now, he’ll be able to apply what he has learned in other sectors to AMS Institutes circularity projects.

Next to Menno’s work in Amsterdam, he is involved in a local Haarlem initiative for cleaning plastic waste from the waterways.

Menno chose this role at AMS Institute because of the opportunity to make real impact on sustainability and the transition towards circularity.

“I think we can make a huge impact if we can get the ideas from scientist and actually use them in the city of Amsterdam. For this, we need to build bridges be-tween the universities, the municipality and business-es. Everybody wants to make impact, but we will only succeed when these worlds work together.”
